Southern Ontario Amazing Race - The Southern Ontario Amazing Race sets 20 teams of 2 against each other in a 2 day race that involves mental and physical challenges. In the first 2 years, the Southern Ontario Amazing Race has raised in excess of $42000 for the Children's Foundation of Guelph and Wellington. 

Guelph Contemporary Dance Festival - The GCDF annually presents a diverse blend of high calibre dance works that clearly push the boundaries of contemporary dance.

FMG's 2006 Guelph Dragon Boat Festival - Over the Festival weekend each team will have 3 races, the two qualifying races on Saturday and a race in the finals on Sunday. Teams will have the option of participating in the dragon boat race challenges on Friday night.

Pet Safety - Please keep the following plants away from your dogs:

Holly. Can cause intense vomiting and diarrhea. Mental depression can also occur.

Amaryllis. Ingestion can result in vomiting, diarrhea, depression, lack of appetite, tremors, drooling and abdominal pain.

Mistletoe. Can cause significant vomiting and diarrhea. In addition, this plant has been associated with difficulty breathing, slowed heart rate, and collapse. Some pets – if they've eaten large quantities of it – have died. Some animals may show erratic behaviour and possible hallucinations.

Poinsettia. This plant can cause irritation to the mouth and stomach and sometimes vomiting. It has a low level of toxicity and is overrated as a toxic plant. Many people consider it basically non-toxic.

Christmas cactus. Harmless if only a small amount is eaten. But a danger to dogs if large quantities of this plant are ingested. Symptoms include vomiting, possibly with blood, diarrhea, possibly with blood, and mental depression. These plants are considered low toxicity plants.
